The Little Apprentice

Engaging little ones in everyday tasks not only gives them a sense of independence and responsibility but develops fine motor skills, prepares them for school - and helps you too!
Tasks such as laying the table, sorting the toys and pairing up socks in the laundry support early mathematical development. Jobs such as sweeping up around the sand tray, spreading butter and jam on toast and chopping soft fruit and vegetables exercise fine motor skills. To create a sense of urgency and fun play beat the sand or kitchen timer and play a favourite tune.
