Our course

Our 10 week kick start course is held in your own home by a Montessori qualified early years teacher and covers all the basic elements to help your child succeed when they start school for the first time.

Before we start the course we'll meet with you and your child to allow us to tailor the programme - especially for you. We pride ourselves on our sessions being fun and motivating and stretching them within their capabilities.

What will my child be doing?

Our sessions are 40 minutes long as we believe children learn best within this timeframe. We use a range of materials and activities including, flashcards, games, books, puzzles, puppets and songs. In addition, our tailored work sheets cover literacy and numeracy based exercises including pencil control and handwriting skills, number and letter formation and recognition and early reading skills. All these activities will also help your child develop strong concentration and listening skills. All children love stickers so we finish each session by rewarding their great work with a motivational sticker.

What specific materials will I be given?

You will be given a notebook at the start of the course. Each week we will write about all the areas that we have covered and suggested activities that you can work on with your child.

At the end of the course your child will be given their own work folder containing all the fun activities that we have covered over the 10 weeks, details of your child's progress and guidance on how to keep up the good work yourself. We will also give you a list of things to buy, stockists, best buys and useful contact numbers all of which will help to make starting school smooth for you and your family.

What results could I expect?

We offer a 10 week kick start course. Our experience has shown this is the minimum time needed to see real progress with the topics covered.

Our course aims to motivate and stretch your child so that they can reach their true learning potential and give them a head start when they start school.

A further 10 week course can be booked and, of course, this will be tailored to ensure your child is stretched so that they continue to develop quickly and competently.
